With the help of his hardworking staff of 80 at Europe Through the Back Door—in Edmonds, Washington, just north of Seattle—Rick's mission is to make European travel fun, affordable, and culturally broadening for Americans.. About the AuthorRick Steves has spent 100 days every year since 1973 exploring Europe. A pleasure to add to my collection. In one of the best brief written summaries of the history of the DSM, for example, she writes the following words of encouragement for those with autism in their lives: "Unlike a diagnosis for step throat, the diagnostic criterion for autism has changed with each new edition of the DSM. Steves always includes some human interest to keep the reader, well, "interested." Steves understands that the most readers are not focused on becoming fluent French linguists, but rather wish to be able to combine enough French language with acceptabe non-verbal cues to be polite, engaged, and comfortable guests in France. Some concepts are complicated, however, and the explanation of trauma is not easy to comprehend. The DSM-5 may no longer include different degrees of autism, but even Grandin explains her reservations about DSM diagnoses. The pictures alone are worth the price of the book. Even with the action scenes though, this is primarily a romance, and a well-written one at that. Some minor weak points is that emotions of the characters may seem just a hairline forced at times, or their actions during romantic scenes slightly uncharacteristic based upon what you know of them.
