She isn't into cartoons (could care less about then on TV, but loves Animal Planet and Nat Geo Wild) so this book is a home run. Most are just bitter and nasty without any substance. Is the author just trying to describe the chickadees, which do have white cheeks? Other birds are just named generically, such as a "gull" and a "thrasher." This is a delightful book overall, but it seems that anyone writing a book like this would have done a better job of naming the birds (which is easy to do) and in collaborating with an illustrator. What is to keep them from selling your material on their web site?An overall excellent book for someone new to the field. It challenges and breaks your heart at the same time. . Indian mythology is filled with ancient tales and legends of karma and how it affected people's current lives and beyond. Does karma also affect the mythological Gods, or is it only reserved for mortals? This book contains ten stories of karma and how even the smallest of actions can result in lives being changed, including lives of the Gods. In these stories, battles rage on earth and in the heavens, animals and plants can change one's destiny, and both honor and betrayal are featured prominently. The lessons range from the effects of stealing a sacred cow to allowing an animal to keep its life and many more. All of these themes come together as foundations for these legends passed down through generations to teach the lesson of karma
